From Go Karting To Sphereing; Gift Vouchers No Longer Need To Go Unused

By: Dominic Donaldson

Personally, I find trying to find gifts for people that have a wow factor and don't force me to declare myself bankrupt a task that's as impossible as having cold fire; and with the current recession at the forefront of everyone's minds, more and more people are trying to make their money go further and many of us buy others gift vouchers or just give them money in an attempt to let them choose their own present.

We've all received gift vouchers for birthdays and Christmases, and while an itunes voucher can come in handy, a voucher for the gardening department in B&Q for a 19 year old girl is not so useful. Now, you can buy vouchers for practically everything, meaning that no longer do people need to filled with that familiar feeling of dread next time they realise they've been given a voucher.

Giving the gift of a day spent go karting is always sure to be well received by the adrenaline junkies amongst your friends. In the kart, you're seated just inches about the ground, making it seem like you're going much faster than you actually are and testing your endurance as you race around the track. This is the perfect gift for sons or partners who love pushing themselves to the limits. Or if they want to push themselves that little bit more, there are chances to drive at insane speeds in Ferraris and Lamborghinis; whichever motor you think would suit them best, their knuckles will definitely turn a lovely shade of white.

Alternatively, if the person you're buying for prefers to rest and recuperate rather than burn rubber, you could try sending them on a spa day. Every girl and woman loves being made to feel like a celebrity and spa days do just that. Giving the gift of one of these days offers the person you're buying for complete relaxation; they'll be exfoliated, moisturised and massaged to within an inch of their life. It's the perfect way to treat your mum or grandmother and gives them the chance to get some much needed personal time.

If go karting and pampering isn't your thing, there's always sphereing. This bizarre extreme sport makes it feel like you're trapped inside your washing machine as you tumble down hills strapped inside a twelve foot inflatable ball. It's certainly not for the faint hearted and if the person you want to treat suffers from motion sickness, this will be a present they may not have particularly fond memories of! Even the manliest of men may go a bit wobbly at the knees after sphereing, but it's definitely something to be experienced and enjoyed.

These are just a few ideas of what you can buy vouchers for, but the list is far from exhausted; it seems that the once dreaded gift, could now give a loved one the experience of a lifetime.
