All dogs can benefit from good obedience training. But how do you know which training school is the right one for you and your dog?

Referrals from friends or testimonials from past clients are a good way to learn about the quality and reliability of a school. If there is any problem getting at least a few testimonials, it’s a sure sign that you should look for another school

Of course, you need to get to know the person who will train your dog. Often, especially with larger schools, the person you talk to on the phone or in person is not your dog’s trainer. In those cases, ask to speak to the trainer, learn about their training philosophy and the experience they have in dealing with dogs like yours.

The more research you do, the more you will want to do before you find the obedience school and trainer that are best for your and your dog. Your extra efforts will pay off with a better-trained and more confident dog.
