Living Fully & Happily with a Purpose Driven Life

The purpose driven life is more than just the famous series of books. It is actually the mission that many of us miss or fail to understand. Many of us view the phrase as something akin to a life motto or a business slogan and we actually have visions of people with set determination in their faces, barrelling towards their goals, unmindful of everything in their path.

Contrary to what some people believe, a purpose driven life is not about blind ambition. It is about seeking the most important part of our lives and building everything around it. That purpose, in the end, becomes more than just the goal - it becomes the very reason of our existence and the basis with which we live, work, behave towards others and towards ourselves.

Why is it important to live a purpose driven life? It's difficult to plan for something if you don't know why and how you intend to do it. It is even more difficult to know what to expect from or how to react to an end result if you don't know if it was desired in the first place. In the same manner, it is difficult to live your life if your purpose remains vague or unknown.

You probably think that many individuals don't live purpose driven lives and yet, they seem to be doing fine. Actually, therein lies the problem. By 'doing fine', these individuals don't even know what sort of possibilities exist in their lives that they can actually benefit from. They miss out on the opportunity to develop to their full potential and enjoy better, more satisfactory lives.

Of course, they can still get to enjoy their non-purpose lives, but that is just so much potential thrown away. Living a life without a purpose is a complete waste of humanity and actually an antithesis to everything we have all come to know, learn and celebrate as people.

Finding your purpose A purpose driven life cannot be achieved overnight or over a couple of weeks. In fact, it takes a lifetime of work in order to achieve it. Having a purpose driven life is more than just having a mantra or a personal slogan - it is actually living the life and practicing the principles to actually enjoy and benefit from it.

Do you need to be religious? Although the popular books began as part of a Christian ministry, you don't have to be affiliated with any one religious group in order to have a purpose driven life. We can all reach our potentials by recognizing our self worth and working towards a goal without attaching ourselves to a belief system. Being a member of a religious group may help and it has shown to have positive effects on some people, but there's no need to join any group in order to live a purpose driven life.

Asking for help Sometimes, it takes more than just good intentions to find your purpose in life. If you need extra help, don't be afraid to ask or at least to look for resources. Read books and magazines on the subject or attend seminars and workshops if you want to, but do so only if it truly helps.
